Louise Hunt

Armed with a passion for design and colour the Hunt family have been creating extraordinary textiles for the past thirty years. They carved a new niche in the world of hand painted textiles which is known as African Sadza Batik. Louise Hunt is a contemporary African textile and surface designer. Trained as a graphic designer, she blends her design background with an updated take on the African Sadza batik method, incorporating handcrafted block prints. Her range of wallpapers is heavily influenced by African motifs, such as Ethiopian crosses, traditional textiles and animal prints. The work is characterized by an interplay of texture and graphic modernity.
