Description
Additional information

Harmony Brown on Navy by Zilungile Hanise is part of the Ilifa (Inheritance/Legacy) collection. A series that pays tribute to the artist’s ancestral home rooted in four generations of family life. This work explores connection through deconstructed patterns inspired by local architecture and the surrounding landscape. The deep navy backdrop paired with earthy brown forms reflects a tradition found in Hanise’s village, where homes are often painted in two tones, a custom still practiced today. Harmony Brown on Navy speaks to a sense of belonging and continuity, blending memory with modern visual storytelling.
