The RAKGADI print is deeply rooted in Jessica’s personal heritage, drawing inspiration from her husband’s mixed Xhosa and Tswana backgrounds. This beautiful blend of cultural elements reflects the essence of their marriage and children, reimagining the classic French African Toile pattern with South African imagery and tribal ethnicities, paying homage to Jessica’s own diverse heritage.

The name RAKGADI honours the resilient Tswana women, affectionately known as “aunts”, who have made enduring contributions to South Africa’s rich cultural tapestry. This design evokes a sense of contemporary nostalgia, seamlessly weaving together stories of the past with visions of the future. Crafted with exquisite attention to detail, the RAKGADI range is a tribute to cultural heritage, fused with timeless style and elegance.
