Norman was introduced to the veld and nature in the Grahamstown area by his naturalist grandfather Jack Skead. After obtaining a degree in natural science, he went into the production of essential oils in the Western Cape. During this time his artistic side developed with his camera, influenced by the majestic mountains, the bountiful vineyards and the hidden treasures of the fynbos.

Norman shares with us his interpretations of the many moods of the Cape’s landscapes. He is able to capture the scenes in a way that others may have not seen. Thus a little piece of the landscape can be brought into living spaces.
“I aim to capture in the photograph, the feelings and emotions I experience while capturing the image. This is achieved by using the light and by composting on aspects in the whole view.”
