Felicity Ellis grew up on a farm in the Midlands. She describes herself as an experimental, self-taught textile designer.
A background in Advertsing and a passion for Design lead Felicity to establish a Fabric and Design Studio called Cottonberry – a small but growing business that has marketed ranges through Mavromac and Hertex, and has show-cased ranges at George Spencer Designs and Decorex in London.
The Indigo Bay collection was inspired by a dreamy family holiday to Bazaruto. To capture the essence of laid-back paradise, Felicity experimented with Shibori – the ancient Japanese art of fabric dyeing. She loves the way the designs literally ‘unfold’ to create themselves. And the result is simple and honest, yet indefinable and sophisticated.
